What is Zico

The market around you, in your pocket.

Zico is a marketplace for fresh groceries. It connects households with the sellers who are already close by, so you can see who has what, at what price, without walking from stall to stall.

When you post a request, sellers within walking distance get a notification straight away, so prices come back while you are still deciding what to cook.

Collect or have it brought

Each price shows whether you pick it up yourself or the seller delivers for a small fee. You choose when you accept.

How it works

From “do you have it?” to dinner.

  1. Post what you need

    One item, or your whole shopping list as a bulk request. Add details like variety or ripeness, e.g. Type: Shangi.

  2. Nearby sellers send prices

    Sellers close to you are notified and reply with a price, how soon it will be ready, and whether they deliver. Those who don’t have it can say so.

  3. Compare and choose

    See every offer side by side with distance and trust badges. For a list, Zico adds up each seller’s total for you.

  4. Approve the final quote

    The seller confirms the total, including any packaging or delivery charge. Nothing is ordered until you approve it.

  5. Collect or receive

    Pick it up from the seller or have it delivered, pay by M-Pesa or cash, and confirm you received everything.

Buyers and sellers see each other as Buyer 7C1E or Seller 4F2A while prices are being compared. Names appear only once an order exists.

Verified, step by step

Sellers confirm their phone, ID and location as they start trading. Badges show what has been verified without showing the details.

Distance, never your address

Zico uses your location to measure how far a seller is. Others see a distance or an area name, never your exact spot.

Confirmed handovers

Every order ends with the buyer confirming they received it. Delivered orders are closed with a PIN only the buyer holds.
